to where the road leads // a poem

edited by Jonah Masson

I come to the road away from my zone
and ahead it continues to extend.
As I drag my wounded body on,
wondering if the road would ever end.

What would I encounter along the track
when no long my loves accompany me?
One by one they all turn their way back,
leave without a bye I thought they were we.

Foggy road and darkness without a light.
When will the sun come out and shine my way?
May my hope never die and be bright.
I gaze up and muse what would be away.

Life, success, dream, failure, or death that ease?
But I will go on to where the road leads.
